FORD FLEX
The secrets behind the new Ford Flex's ultra-quiet ride can be traced to a nondescript test facility in Allen Park that houses a giant 23-foot fan capable of blowing wind up to 100 mph. It was in Wind Tunnel 8 at the Jacobs's Technology Driveability Test Facility where Flex engineers spent months measuring, pinpointed and mitigated wind noise inside the Flex cabin. The teams employed microphone-equipped mannequins inside the cabin and special tape on the exterior to spot to detect the smallest imperfection that could lead to wind noise. As a result, the Flex, which hits showrooms this summer, delivers a quieter ride than competitors including the Acura MDX, Toyota Highlander and GMC Acadia, according to internal testing.

FORD SAFETY
Ford Motor Company is bringing to market the worlds first automotive inflatable seat belts, combining attributes of traditional seat belts and air bags to provide an added level of crash safety protection for rear seat occupants.
The advanced restraint system is designed to help reduce head, neck and chest injuries for rear seat passengers, often children and older passengers who can be more vulnerable to such injuries.
Ford will introduce inflatable rear seat belts on the next-generation Ford Explorer, which goes into production next year for the North American market. Over time, Ford plans to offer the technology in vehicles globally.

2010 Cobra Jet Mustang Burnout.
Ford Racing unveiled the 2010 Cobra Jet Mustang at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, which marks the continued evolution of the CJ as a factory-produced turnkey race car. In honor of the SEMA introduction, Ford Racing built and unveiled a one-of-a-kind SEMA Special silver Cobra Jet complete with a charcoal Cobra Jet graphics package.

Ford launches new "SYNC: Say the Word" ad campaign to educate buyers on the simplicity and power behind its SYNC system.
Ford and consumer electronics leader Best Buy are also teaming up to help build SYNC� awareness and provide mobile technical support through Best Buy Mobile stores and Geek Squad nationwide.
