Ford of Ocala is Selling Fusions at a Record Pace!

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Ford Motor Co. said Thursday that its Fusion midsize sedan has already broken the model's annual sales record even though U.S. auto sales have dropped 25 percent.

Ford sold 151,137 Fusions through November 11th, beating the full-year sales record of 149,552 set in 2007, the company said in a statement.

Fusion sales through the first 10 months of the year were up 15 percent from the same period in 2008, according to Autodata Corp.

The Fusion was the top-selling car made by a Detroit automaker through October.

It gets up to 34 miles per gallon (14.5 kilometers per liter) on the highway when equipped with a four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission.

A gas-electric hybrid version gets up to 41 miles per gallon (17.5 kilometers per liter) in the city.

The car's base price is just under $20,000 including shipping.

The Fusion and its Mercury twin, the Milan, have received good quality rankings from outside ratings groups. Four-cylinder versions of the cars finished second in the family car category, beaten only by Toyota's Prius gas-electric hybrid, in Consumer Reports magazine's auto rankings.

Ford of Ocala Donates $6000 to Marion Technical Institute!

How does one define success? Is it the absence of failure? Is it the presence of greatness? Or, rather, can you simply define it by reaching, and hopefully exceeding a goal? This past weekend, on Saturday, November 7th, 2009, Ford of Ocala participated in a local event at the Marion Technical Institute labeled “Drive One 4UR School” that enabled members of local community to view and test drive a large assortment of Ford vehicles.

Hosted by Marion Technical Institute, the “Drive One 4UR School” event saw nearly 1,000 attendees, and 348 people test drove a Ford vehicle! As exciting as that is for Ford of Ocala, we are even more thrilled about what that means for MTI. In case you were not aware, for each person who test drove a Ford product (18 years of age and older, one driver per household) Ford donated $20 to MTI! We are proud to say that we reached our goal of at least 300 test drives, and it was all because of the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff and students of MTI, and the staff of Ford of Ocala.

People from all walks of life came out to participate in the event, and we heard more positive feedback and comments than we had imagined. Some of which includes “Wow! This Fusion has a lot of room!” or “The acceleration in this vehicle is far more powerful than I anticipated.” and at times “I have got to get me one of these, may I have a business card, please?” Within our community of Marion County, and surrounding counties, Ford of Ocala is committed to provide the finest Ford products and services. We cannot express enough appreciation to the community for making this event, or each day we are in business a satisfying and enjoyable experience.

We hope that as more events transpire, you continue to come to them, and we continue to provide a safe, pleasant atmosphere for you to come to.

Ford of Ocala presents And He Lived to Tell About It!

I recently purchased a 2009 For F-150 and I am writing you this email to praise the safety features of that vehicle that saved my life. I was recently at the Texas State Fair and was looking at the new Ford vehicles because we will soon be in the market for my wife a new SUV, and I told one of the representatives my story. They told me that I should send the pictures in to someone at Ford. I did a google search for contact info at Ford, and I am taking a guess at your email address from your name.

On May 9th, I was driving on south Interstate 45 from Dallas to Houston at 5 in the morning. It was pitch black outside and as I came over a small hill in the road, there were 6 cattle standing across the freeway. I was traveling 65-70 miles an hour and I did not have time to react and swerve away from the cows. I hit and killed 3 of the cows. I don't remember much of the wreck, but I do remember that I walked away from it. Once the police arrived on the scene, the were sure that anyone in the vehicle was surely dead. As every new officer and helping passer by came upon us, I was asked if I had checked on the people in the vehicle. They were surprised every time that I told them that I was the only one in the vehicle. They would ask how I was even standing after the wreck. I firmly believe that God put me in an F-150 exactly one week before the accident for a reason. The truck was totaled, and looking at the damage, I can see how anyone would not believe that I walked away from the accident. I had a twisted vertebrae, dislocated ribs, a concussion, and some burns from the airbag. All of that is fixable, and the one thing that I also have is my life. If I would have been in my previous vehicle, they said I would have been decapitated. On my F-150, the hood rolled back over the windshield and shielded anything from coming through it. The frame kept the cockpit in tact and overall, this truck truly performed the safety features to the max. No-one ever thinks of hitting 3 900 lb cows when they think of auto accidents, but your engineers and designers have put features into this truck that will save hundreds of lives, and I am sure glad they saved mine. My wife were married in March and this accident happened only 2 months after our wedding. Now we are expecting our first child, and I will only trust Ford vehicles with my wife and family in the future. I have attached a picture of the truck and I will say, the sales staff was fantastic in assisting me with getting a new 2009 F-150.

Thank You So Much,
Joe Cross

Ford of Ocala & the Jay Leno Show!

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Electric Ford Focus set to Premier on 'Leno'Although electric cars won't be hitting dealer lots any time soon, automakers are working hard to get customers accustomed to the idea of driving without gasoline engines. That's why on Sept. 18, you'll see Drew Barrymore race an all-electric Ford Focus as part of her visit with Jay Leno during the first week of his new prime-time show on NBC. For the rest of the year, celebrities will compete for the best lap times in the special Focus provided by Ford. The setup is similar to the popular celeb racing feature on the United Kingdom car show Top Gear. Ford won't have an electric Focus until 2011, but it hopes the Leno feature will show that electric cars can be fun mainstream vehicles. We invite you to visit www.twitter.com/fordofocala and Tweet your thoughts on this new vehicle.

An Open Letter Sent to Ford of Ocala...

Monday, July 20, 2009

"I just wanted to pass along a bit of news that I thought was important to share. One of our Task Force members has done a great community service for Marion County High School seniors this summer. Steve Hollosi and the Ford of Ocala team are to be commended for allowing several hundred students to be photographed for senior portraits in their dealership over the last several weeks. Jeff Wilkinson, SWI Photographers was very grateful because he could not find a place which could accommodate this number of students anywhere in Marion County. We all know what an important milestone senior portraits represent, and I am sure the students were very appreciative as well.

Once again Ford of Ocala continues to show its commitment and support to not only MTI, but the entire Marion County School System. Our hats are off to you Steve! You should be very proud! "

Just another example of how Ford of Ocala is giving back to our community. Thank you for your kind words.
