Ford of Ocal Has More HP Than the Daytona Pace Car!
 DEARBORN, Mich., Jan. 19, 2010 ~ For the first time ever, American's favorite muscle car will pace 'The Great American Race.'
For the first time in 40 years, a Ford Motor Company car will be pacing the field for the NASCAR season-opening Daytona 500 when the 2011 Mustang GT, powered by the all-new 5.0 liter V8 engine, officially starts the race on Feb. 14 at Daytona International Speedway.
''Having the opportunity to pace America's biggest auto race with a Ford icon like the 2011 Mustang GT is truly an honor,'' said Jamie Allison, director, Ford North America Motorsports. ''And to have the new 5.0 liter engine powering the car will be a great way to demonstrate its power and class-leading fuel economy.''
This latest version of Ford's legendary muscle car will be a Race Red glass roof coupe with an all-new 5.0 liter V8 engine capable of producing 412 horsepower, while delivering a class leading 25 mpg on the highway.
The one of a kind model will feature a special Daytona 500 paint scheme, Ford Racing suspension, strut tower brace and mufflers, unique painted wheels, and special interior treatment, including specially branded lit sill plates.
The 2011 Mustang GT Daytona 500 Pace Car model is one of only 50 special editions that will be built and sold to the public.

Holy Batman! Ford of Ocala supports CFCC Foundation
 This event is in conjunction with the CFCC Foundation’s Annual Fund Drive. The Annual Fund is an internal campaign for employees of the college to support the college monetarily in a variety of ways including scholarships, endowments, The Promise for the Future fund and much more. This years theme is the Patriot 400 and from the beginning of Jan. until Feb 5, the goal is to raise at least 400 pit crew drivers fro the 6 teams. While the monetary amount is valuable, the goal of this drive is to raise awareness and support for the Foundation’s efforts amongst employees; so the team that wins will have the most crew members, not money. Each member of the Presidents staff and Dr. Dassance have made a significant contribution of their own and that entitled them to chose their car. The committee members for the drive have chosen a car to support and serve as the crew chiefs. Ford of Ocala is representing the Bat Mobile and Dr. Tim Wise, VP of Student Affairs. The event is being held during lunch hours today at the Student Union and all faculty and staff are encourage to come and meet the drivers and their crews, and in the end, sign up to support one of the teams. Ford Outperforms Other Brands in 2009!
Ford estimates that its market share rose 1 percentage point in 2009, to 15 percent. That would represent Ford’s first full-year share increase since 1995. Ford's plan is working, Ken Czubay, Ford's vice president for United States marketing, sales and service, said in a statement. Customer consideration continues to grow for our high-quality, vehicles.
Shares of Ford, the only Detroit automaker to avoid bankruptcy, reached their highest level since 2005 on Tuesday, rising 8.5 percent to $11.15 in midday trading. They were worth as little as $1.50 in January 2009. Ford sales were down 15% from 2008 while GM and Chrysler reported 30%. Toyota, Honda and Nissan lost 20% from the year before. Only small manufacturers Kia, Hyundai and Subura posted modest gains for 2009.

Boss 5.0 Mustang to race in 2010!
 FORD RACING UNVEILS THE NEXT GENERATION OF RACING MUSTANG IN THE NEW BOSS 302R
DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 28, 2009 Forty years after its namesake became a road racing legend, the BOSS is back on track for 2010 with a new 5.0 liter V8 engine.
In honor of the 40th anniversary of Parnelli Jones 1970 Trans-Am championship in a Mustang BOSS 302 prepared by Bud Moore Engineering, Ford Racing is introducing the BOSS 302R, a factory-built race car ready for track days and road racing in a number of Grand-Am, SCCA and NASA classes.
The Mustang BOSS 302R is a serialized off road only vehicle ready to race. Each base model will come with a 5.0 liter four -valve engine and a six speed manual transmission with a roll cage, race seats, safety harness, data acquisition and race dampers and springs, and a Brembo brake and tire package, starting at an MSRP of $79,000.
